Kojic acid

What is it?

Kojic acid inhibits tyrosinase, the enzyme responsible for melanin (skin pigment) synthesis, and is derived from several species of fungi such as Aspergillus and Penicillium.

What does it do for your skin?

Acts by reducing the amount of melanin and consequently the intensity of skin hyperpigmentation, improving the appearance of dark spots and/or hyperpigmentation and evening skin tone.
